Gullane pair fly the flag in ‘Winternationals’ at Pinehurst


Gullane pair Calum Robinson and Grace Crawford both made their mark against international opposition on a trip to the US.
They produced strong performances as part of a 12-strong group of young East Lothian golfers on a ten-day trip to Pinehurst in North Carolina.

Hide AdIn a series of events called “The Winternationals”, one-handicapper Robinson recorded two victories, the first in a play-off after coming from six shots behind in the second round.
He then added an outright victory by six shots after posting rounds of 72-76 over Pinehurst No 2 and No 4 respectively.
Crawford, meanwhile, finished third in her first event then second next time out as English star Lotte Fox claimed the win on both occasions.
“All the players played ten rounds of golf in ten days on the trip,” said East Lothian Junior League secretary David Warren, who accompanied the group along with Shona Paton, and David Canavan.
