Midlothian drivers in action at Cowdenbeath Racewall

It was a blustery evening at the Cowdenbeath Racewall on Saturday evening but the track was dry and the racing exciting.

Amongst those in action in the ORCi Ministox were local drivers Rachel Kidd from Easthouses and Kyle Rogerson from Tranent.

The opening heat was won by Robbie Scott and he won the first from Robbie Armit and Kidd. Scott again led Armit and Kidd home. Rogerson was soon running in second spot when the final started but then there were three race suspensions within as many laps. When the race restarted Armit went through to win from Kidd and Bobby Brandon with Rogerson in fourth place.

Aidan and John Galloway from Gorebridge were racing in their Prostock Basics and there was some close and fast racing. In heat one Dave Rennie was awarded the win although he was chased all the way to the chequer by Aidan with John in eighth place. Aidan then went on to win the second heat, his first win but had to look sharp to do so with John in seventh place.

Their Final was for their Turner trophy with Martin Duncan leading but he had Aidan in close order and they stayed like that for a good part of the race. As the race progressed it became a four way dice for the win with Joanne Hilditch taking to the outside line to win from Duncan with Aidan dropping to finish and finishing just ahead of John.

Next Saturday the Saloons return along with the ORCi Stock Rods, Ministox and the Micro F2 drivers and they will be racing for their Turner trophies.
