Racing: Henderson’s new recruit ready to produce an electrifying hurdles debut

Electrolyser makes his debut for the all-conquering Nicky Henderson stable in his new discipline in the Bet toteplacepot At totepool.com Novices’ Hurdle at Taunton (12.40).

Now a seven-year-old, it appears the right time to go hurdling but he was by no means a back number on the level this summer. His latest outing at Ascot on Champions Day was probably his best run of the season as he was just over two lengths behind Ascot Gold Cup winner Rite Of Passage in third.

His ability to handle soft ground will be crucial in this sphere as there appears to be no sign of the rain disappearing any time soon.

At Haydock, the Oliver Sherwood-trained Many Clouds may be up to defying a penalty in the British Stallion Studs Northern Racing Club “Trainer Traits” EBF “National Hunt” Novices’ Hurdle (Q) (1.25).

A narrow defeat by the smart Gevrey Chambertin was followed by an easy success at Ascot and he looks a nice recruit.
