Rugby: Musselburgh warm up for Murrayfield with sevens success

Musselburgh won the Preston Lodge Sevens on Saturday to warm up for their National Shield final against Dunfermline at Murrayfield this coming weekend. The East Lothian men defeated Watsonians in the final at the Pennypit on a chilly, but sunny day in the county.

Perthshire took home the spoils in the Plate event on what was a great day for the host club who themselves, as RBS East One champions, have had a brilliant campaign.

Musselburgh’s win at the sevens was coupled with the news that they had been pipped to the RBS National One title though.
