The hosts, coached by former ‘Muir star Rory Couper, offered a decent test but the Capital side were well in control at
half time with converted tries from Dan Winning, Craig Keddie, Matt Walker and Dougie Steele establishing a 28-7 lead.

And, the visitors added three further touchdowns to progress to the last 16 with a 45-12 score line. They are joined by
Watsonians who also shrugged off some poor recent league
results to see off Selkirk 36-14 at Myreside.

In-form Edinburgh Accies were on the road to face
Peebles. And they booked a place in the third-round draw with a 30-0 win that featured a try apiece for Max Love, Alex Glashan, Lawrie Seydak and Callum Black.

However, there was
disappointment for Musselburgh who bowed out 32-27 to Kirkcaldy in a hard-fought
contest at Stoneyhill. A try by William Fleming was converted by Danny Owenson who also booted two penalties to leave ‘Burgh 17-13 adrift at half time. Despite further
converted touchdowns from Michael Fleming and Jamie Walker and a red card for the Fifers, ’Burgh went down
32-27.
