Always looked to get on the ball and attack from deep but also showcased his world-class kicking game, capped by that beauty of a drop goal
Always lively and looking to get involved, manufactured some half breaks and, with a bit more luck, could well have got on the scoresheet.

Very much Scotland's new defensive rock, another performance full of graft and alertness.
Made the most of Russell's glorious cross-kick and fought to the line to get Scotland off the mark. Came close to scoring fourth try but was impeded by illegal challenge which led to penalty try.
Struggled with the slippy ball at times but in true Russell fashion didn't let any fumbles faze him as he led the attack with aplomb, created the first two tries beautifully.
There's life in the old dog yet. Another composed and alert display, flawless with the boot as always, and a cracking try that epitomised his unquenchable spirit for the battle.
Went off with a head knock after just 13 minutes.
A much more enjoyable day at the office for the skipper, led from the front with some big carries.
Solid as ever in a Scottish scrum which became more and more dominant as the match wore on.
Settled into the game after a breathless opening quarter as the lineout functioned well.
Much better after a below-par performance last week. Was awarded official man of the match but that should probably go to the back row.
Brought in for his dynamic carrying and he didn't disappoint with some excellent yardage and hole-punching throughout.

Never took a step back all game. repelled the Samoan carries and made a good few of his own.
On for the last 25 minutes and was the man on the ball who forced the first penalty try at the back of a lineout maul.
On early after Dell's departure and slotted in well to a front row which had the better of their opposition most of the game.
Replaced Nel and helped keep the scrum solid.
Replaced Gilchrist and helped keep the momentum going as Scotland fought for that fourth try.
Came on late for Bradbury
Enjoyed a few darts with ball in hand after replacing Laidlaw.
Slotted in at inside centre for Johnson and kept things ticking over with linking play to move the ball wide.
Played last few minutes in place of Russell
