Scotland team to face Argentina: One change to starting XV from All Blacks loss as Fagerson fails fitness race
Gregor Townsend has named his team to face Los Pumas at Murrayfield in their penultimate 2025 Quilter Nations Series test match.
Scotland have made one change to the starting XV that lost 17-25 to New Zealand last weekend for this Sunday’s third and penultimate Autumn Nations Series test against Argentina.
Vice captain Rory Darge returns to the line-up with Matt Fagerson dropping to the replacements. Meanwhile, Zander Fagerson misses out completely for the second test in a row having been given a 50/50 chance to be fit in time by head coach Gregor Townsend.
The tight head prop will hopefully recover to play some part in the final match of the series against Tonga. Returning to the squad is winger Duhan van der Merwe, who is named amongst the replacements as the 23rd man, with Kyle Steyn having held on to his place in the starting line-up after an excellent individual game against the All Blacks.

Edinburgh winger Darcy Graham to earn 50th Scotland captain against Argentina
Darcy Graham will earn his 50th cap for Scotland when he takes to the field against Los Pumas this weekend. The28-year old is joint-top try scorer for Scotland Men alongside Duhan van der Merwe.
The Edinburgh Rugby winger made his debut back in 2018 against Wales and has fond memories of facing Argentina after running in three tries in a 52-29 win in 2022 during their last encounter. George Turner, named amongst the replacements, could be the next Scotland player to earn 50 caps if he plays in both this test and their final match up against Tonga the following weekend.
