Scotland v Ireland on TV: how to watch Six Nations, kick-off time and team news

Scotland’s Guinness Six Nations campaign continues this weekend with a vital match against Ireland at Murrayfield – with tournament hopes resting on the result.

National coach Gregor Townsend says his side must be more clinical to maintain their chance of taking the title after the momentous win over England was followed by a frustrating loss to Wales.

Scotland don’t have the best of records against the Irish though and have a one win in 10 record recently.

Ireland however haven’t has the best of campaigns so far winning just once – convincingly against Italy last month – from three games.

What time is kick off?

The game starts at Murrayfield at 3pm and takes centre stage. Yesterday saw two games take place with England edging out France 23-20 and table-topping Wales toppling Italy 48-7.

How can I watch the game?

The match is being shown live on BBC One with coverage beginning at 2.20pm. Gabby Logan is the host.

Is it free?

The Six Nations are among the ‘crown jewels’ for broadcast so coverage will be free-to-air and accessible no matter which TV provider you’re with. ITV have the rights to all England home matches but Scotland games are spread across terrestrial providers and BBC take on this afternoon’s encounter.

Can I stream the game online?

Yes. If you’re not near a TV the match will be shown on the BBC iPlayer website and on the app.
