The Livingston-born skater took the 1500m title yesterday and followed it up with the 1000m crown today in the Netherlands. She couldn’t quite make it a treble, missing out on a medal altogether in the 500m final.

Christie had podiumed seven times in the Worlds during her career, but this is the first time that she has claimed gold in any discipline. Her success was somewhat unexpected considering her season so far has been disrupted by injury.
