The 22-year-old was drawn to play Stuart McGregor, but the Yorkshire teenager pulled out and has been replaced by Dalgety Bay’s Alan Tasker.

This will be Kempsell’s first tournament of the year following a breakthrough season in 2015 which saw him win three PSA titles to climb into the world’s top 100.

Kempsell’s training partners Alan Clyne and Greg Lobban are also looking to become the first home winner since John White in 2004.
