or 2014 winners Bruntsfield Links, it was a 7.5-0.5 triumph at home to Baberton, one of their main challengers to finish in pole position in Section B at the end of the round-robin phase.

Immediately behind, Baberton’s Scott Carmichael made three birdies in the first six holes as he secured a share of the spoils against Kevin
Cattanach. But, on a night when that was to prove the only highlight for the visitors, both Stuart McLaren and Ross Bryson amassed seven birdies between them in claiming their points for Bruntsfield Links.

“An important win for us against one of our main challengers for the top spot in our league,” admitted team
manager Douglas Livingstone.

Craigmillar Park won by the same margin at home to newcomers Craigielaw to sit a point ahead of both Ratho Park and Dalmahoy, 5-3 winners over Swanston New, in Section C.

“The whole team played well on the night and managed to secure a two valuable points with our biggest win of the season,” reported Craigmillar Park’s Ken Utterson.
