Ton is lifted

PRESTONFIELD went from twice wooden spoonists to winners in the ‘Ton Trophy’, a seniors inter-club event in the Capital.

Led by Jim Bremner and also represented by Tommy Alston, Mev Welsh, Stuart Dickson and Donald Wood, they became the first non-host club to claim the prize by winning at Mortonhall.

Held over three consecutive days, 32 seniors from Baberton, Mortonhall, Prestonfield and Swanston New took part in the round-robin event.
