Volleyball: City of Edinburgh drop down

City of Edinburgh lost their grip on the leadership of the men's SVL Premier volleyball league when they suffered a home defeat to defending champions South Ayrshire.

They lost a tight three-set match 24-26, 20-25, 24-26 at Queensferry High to throw the title race wide open. City of Glasgow Ragazzi took over at the top with an impressive 25-12, 25-12, 25-14 win over NUVOC in Coatbridge.

But there was no change of fortunes for Edinburgh Jets at the start of the new year as they went down 18-25, 21-25, 23-25 to Scottish Cup holders Glasgow Mets in a competitive match.
