The music festival was headlined by Britpop legends Ocean Colour Scene and also featured sets by Dundee indie rockers The View, West Yorkshire Britpop survivors Embrace and 90s indie-dance band Republica.
Given the era the bands are from, as well as it seemed the fans in attendance, the festival definitely had a mini T in the Park feel to it, with the location of the event next to Edinburgh Airport bringing back memories of the legendary Scottish music festival’s Balado Airfield site.
Summer Sessions Edinburgh returns on Saturday, August 24 with indie rockers Catfish and The Bottlemen.

5. The View
The View were on fire at Summer Sessions Edinburgh, with frontman Kyle Falconer not feeling the cold in shorts, and he was definitely in good spirits and pumped up during the Dundee indie rockers hour-long greatest hits set in the evening, before headliners Ocean Colour Scene took to the stage. | National World Photo: Kevin Quinn

6. Warming up the crowd
The View started their set with rocker 'Grace' and went straight into 'Wasted Little DJ's' to help the crowd warm up, with chilly winds and occasional rain making a mockery of the festival's name at times. More bounce-along tunes followed including 'Tragic Magic' as the strengthening wind briefly threatened to ruin the sound. The crowd then joined in for a singalong for a stripped back version of 'Face for the Radio'. 'Double Yellow Lines had the crowd bouncing again, along with 'Sunday', 'Same Jeans', 'Superstar Tradesman' and final track 'Shock Horror'/ 'Typical Time'. | National World Photo: Kevin Quinn
