CHRISTMAS. It's a time for homecomings, when families are united for the festivities. However, not everyone is that fortunate. For many it's just another day, for some, just another day on the streets.

This weekend, from Friday evening, Shelter Scotland and live music night Nothing Ever Happens Here have teamed up to present Home for the Holidays, at Summerhall.

Home For The Holidays is a Christmas Songbook raising funds for Shelter Scotland.

An impressive bill of acts were involved, including Withered Hand, Meursault, Ballboy, Wolf, Book Group, Eagleowl, and Spook School.

The resulting album will be released as a limited edition songbook, featuring lyrics, chords and illustrations for each track, with the original recordings presented as an exclusive download.

To celebrate the release, a launch party takes place this Friday and Saturday, featuring performances from many of the contributors.

Acts will appear on two stages, over two days, starting at 7.30pm on Friday when Withered Hand steps into the spotlight.

Next, at 8.20pm, will be Hans Klammer, followed by DTH PDL (9.10pm), Broken Records (10.10pm) and Lost Map/Kid Canaveral DJs (11pm-1am).

On Saturday, the Dissection Room stage opens at 1.15pm with Eagleowl, followed by Wotjek The Bear (2.25pm), Kid Canaveral (3.40pm), The Son(s) (5pm), Savage Mansion (6.20pm), Ballboy (7.40pm), The Spook School (9pm), Meursault (10.20pm) and Papi Falso DJs (11pm).

Meanwhile, in the Main Hall, the action starts at 1.50pm with Richie Gallacher. At 3pm it’s the turn of Fuzzystar, followed by Pictish Trail at 4.20pm.

The line is completed by Wolf (5.40pm), Book Group (7pm), Andrew Wasylyk (8.20pm) and Tanat (9.40pm).
