Dionne Warwick to come to Edinburgh one last time with farewell tour
Five-time Grammy Award winning music legend, Dionne Warwick, a cornerstone of American pop music and culture is to come to Edinburgh as part of her One Last Time farewell tour.
The 80-year-old, who is currently celebrating 50 years in the business and became a Twitter phenomenon last year with her candid tweets to fans and stars alike, has announced she will play the Usher Hall on 15 June, 2022.
Having scored more than 60 chart hits and with more than 100 million records to her credit, Warwick began singing professionally in 1961 after being discovered by songwriting team Burt Bacharach and Hal David.
Her first hit came in 1962 with Don’t Make Me Over and, less than a decade later, she had released more than 18 consecutive Top 100 singles, including the classic Bacharach/David recordings, Walk on By, Anyone Who Had a Heart, Message to Michael, Promises Promises, A House is Not a Home, Alfie, Say a Little Prayer and the theme from Valley of the Dolls.
Expect most, if not all to feature in the farewell tour as well as Do You Know The Way To San Jose? as well as material from her latest record, She’s Back.
A spokesperson for the Usher Hall says, "We are delighted to announce that Usher Hall has been added to her UK & European concert dates. One Last Time will form part of her Farewell Tour taking place in Summer 2022."
