Edinburgh singer Nina Nesbitt shares quarantine song after racking up 100 million streams

Edinburgh singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt has chalked up an incredible 100,000,000 streams of her hit song, The Best You Had.

The former Balerno High School pupil sent a message to fans on social media platforms Twitter and Facebook to share the news, along with a homemade video of her performing the track live.

The Best You Had is off Nina's second album, The Sun Will Come Up, The Seasons Will Change, which was released early last year.

Nina told the Evening News: "I’m so excited to reach 100,000,000 streams on The Best You Had. It seems like such a big number and I’m very grateful to anyone who has listened to it.

"It’s one of my favourite songs from the record so I’m pleased people have been enjoying it."

The 25-year-old, whose mother Caty is originally from Sweden, had been due to travel to Stockholm earlier this month to finish writing her eagerly-awaited third album, but had to postpone the trip due to the global coronavirus outbreak.

Nina, who has 183,000 Twitter followers, promised to keep fans entertained by sharing music and pictures of what she's doing to prevent boredom during the coronavirus lockdown.
