Edinburgh Zoo threw open its doors to the public for the first time since lockdown with new social distancing measures in place.
While none of the animals have changed much in the last three months, the visitor’s experience has been adapted to ensure a safe environment.
Rules are rules, but staff at Edinburgh zoo have decided to have a little fun with their new social distancing measures to make sure families can still enjoy the popular attraction as much as possible.
Here are five new things dotted around the grounds that weren’t there before:
1. Giant orange paws

2. Safety packs
Safety packs are on sale for £5 and include a bottle of hand sanitiser, a disposable face mask and some tissues for those who want to be extra careful when walking around the grounds Photo: JPI Media
3. Penguin face mask
Reusable face masks with animal patterns including penguins and lions are on sale for £7.50 for visitors to take away as a souvenir that can keep them safe Photo: JPI Media
4. A new route
