The Glasgow trio said a special digital download ‘Charity Boogie Bundle’ release of their new album Half Drunk Under A Full Moon including a live cover of Baccara's “Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, is available ahead of the Euro 2020s. A studio recording of the hit song will be released later on.

The three children's charities chosen are The Tartan Army Children's Charity which raises money for disadvantaged children, SoccerAid and The Eilidh Brown Memorial Fund set up by Eilidh’s family after she sadly passed away.

Jon Fratelli said: “We've been overwhelmed by the reaction to our cover of ‘Boogie’ so it's great to be able to combine this live recording with our new album to generate much-needed funds for these 3 great charities.”

He added: “We know the Tartan Army are going to be boogying all summer long anyway, so if some of them choose to celebrate a win against England by listening to our version of the song, we'll be delighted.”

Gordon Brown, Eilidh’s dad, said: “We are so honoured to be involved in this project, Jon Fratelli is a patron for our charity and without him Baz and Mince we would not have been able to build our respite home for children living with cancer. They are best guys and best band, we love them.”

The Glasgow trio has been invited to perform the track on live TV during the delayed UEFA Euro 2020 Finals this summer.

An exclusive meet and greet with the band and celebrity guests will be on offer to anyone who buys the Charity Boogie Bundle.

Talking about their Euros performance, Jon said: “We'll definitely be doing that, but we can't say too much more about it at the moment as it's all a bit hush-hush.

“But we plan to make the performance as gloriously over the top as possible!”

Quizzed over whether Scotland can win the Euros, Jon said: “Let's see if we can get out of the group for a change then see what happens! We've got a great squad and manager so anything is possible.”

Talking about the Fratelli’s version, Mary Dostal, widow of Yes Sir, I Can Boogie lyricist Frank Dostal, said: “Of course I always knew this is a great song - and every time we get a request for permission to make a new version I have to ask myself if Frank (my husband) would like it! This time I know for sure he would.”

Marie-Luise Soja, widow of Rolf Soja, co-writer said: "My husband Rolf was a skilled songwriter and producer. He was also a huge football fan and I’m sure he would have loved the combination of 'Yes Sir I Can Boogie' and football”.

Scottish celebrities showed their support – Irvine Welsh and Outlander Star Sam Heughan praised the song as well as saying it was for a “great cause”.

The Glasgow trio have announced a ‘regional’ September UK tour, including tour dates in Edinburgh on September 3, Dundee in September 23 and Rutherglen in September 24.
