PROPAGANDA TO GET THE PARTY STARTED

PROPAGANDA. They’re already peddling it in 21 cities across the globe, and now they’ve set their sights on our city.

No lie, the biggest indie night anywhere, which is held every weekend in places like London, Dublin, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow, opens its doors for the first time at the HMV Picture House on Saturday, with a special launch night featuring Radio One DJ Huw Stephens.

The brainchild of DJ Dan, who created the club while he was a student at Bristol university nine years ago, it promises indie lovers a weekly night of the best in cutting-edge tracks and anthemic classics.

“I’m thrilled Propaganda is coming to Edinburgh,” says DJ Dan. “It’s such a great city and I’m really proud to see the night I started in a 200-capacity club in Bristol grow into over 20 weekly club nights in the UK and Australia.”

The club has a rep for attracting the cream of the indie crop, with the likes of Lily Allen, Ellie Goulding and Mumford & Sons regularly playing DJ sets.

“We’ve always had a knack for bringing in celebrity DJs, and we plan to bring a fair few to Edinburgh over the coming months,” says DJ Dan.

“The week after the launch we have Peaches Geldof lined-up, and we’ve got The Vaccines flying up to the club on Saturday, 22 October.”
