Rare David Bowie painting sells for £7000
The 10x8.25in portrait of an unknown woman, titled D Head LXII, was designed by the late pop superstar in 1997.
Bowie, who died from liver cancer in January, donated it to fundraising exhibition ArtAid ‘98 at the City Art Centre.

It went under the hammer at Lyon & Turnbull’s contemporary and post war art sale, attracting bids from fans in the auction room and online.
Expected to fetch £3000-5000, it was eventually purchased by an anonymous collector in the room.
Bowie studied art, music and design at Bromley Technical High School, in London.
