Singer-songwriter Jodi Findlay, 24, and drummer Cameron McLean, 21, from Mid Calder and Bathgate respectively, together make SILVI – an alternative, electronic pop duo.

Bandzai is ran by Sound City Liverpool in partnership with scotts Menswear, and is taking place online.

The winning act will take a grand prize of £10,000, a slot at the Sound City festival, feature in scotts XMASLIVE campaign, and a three-day recording session at Grammy Award-winning recording studios Parr Street Studios.

Jodi said: “Making it to the next round of the competition brings us a step closer to being recognised as a real contender to win a prize that would quite literally change our lives.”

Bandzai is a global competition to find the best emerging artists, and to celebrate and give back to the artists who have found innovative ways to keep the world entertained throughout the pandemic.

Thousands of acts across the world entered the competition, and 100 were selected by a panel of industry and artist judges, with each band pinning their hopes on hitting the right notes in the competition.

The competition works by video entries, with each act submitting a separate pre-recorded performance at each round.

The first round of public voting took place on Sound City’s Guesthouse streaming platform in May, with 32 acts moving on to the next round – including SILVI.

Jodi and Cameron formed SILVI last summer, and have been featured multiple times on BBC Scotland.

They have two original songs, ‘Your Smoke’ and ‘That’s Not Love’, both available on Spotify and Apple Music.

Jodi added: “We’re still such a new band with a small audience so having been considered amongst these amazing bands with much bigger fan bases is already such a huge honour.

“It would be an incredible opportunity to really get the band off the ground after a difficult year of no gigs or live music.”

You can vote for SILVI in round 2 of Bandzai on Sunday June 6.
