Dine in style on the legendary Flying Scotsman

EVER fancied dining on the Flying Scotsman? Well now you can.

Steam Dreams Rail Co bring the famous steam train back to the Waverley on Sunday 20 May for three trips on the Fife Circle route.

The first, at 9am, finds passengers heading out over the Forth Bridge towards Fife, making her way along the coast towards Kirkcaldy, before turning back inland, via Dunfermline and heading back to the Capital.

Along the way, passengers in Pullman Style Dining and Premier Dining will enjoy a champagne brunch, while First Class will enjoy complimentary champagne, orange juice and biscuits, while Premium Standard passengers will tuck into biscuits, tea and coffee.

At 1.45pm the Flying Scotsman will again steam out of the Waverley, this time passengers in Pullman Style Dining and Premier Dining will enjoy a champagne cream tea, while First Class and Premium Standard will receive the same as on the morning trip.

Finally in the evening, the Flying Scotsman will depart the Waverley at 7pm offering passengers sunset views of Fife, before arriving back in the capital at approximately 9.45pm. Pullman Style Dining and Premier Dining will enjoy a two course dinner, while First Class and Premium Standard receive the same as on the morning trip.

Built in 1923 for the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) the Flying Scotsman pulled long-distance express trains, notably on the London to Edinburgh service.

The locomotive became the first steam locomotive to reach 100mph on 30 November 1934.

Fares (per person) for the trips are Pullman Style Dining £225, Premier Dining £175, First Class £125, Premium Standard £79 -Tables for two in dining classes are an additional £40 one off charge.
