The annual month-long Edinburgh festival has for many years brought the world’s best comedians to the Capital of Scotland, and 2024 has been no different.
With household names like Nina Conti performing in the city all month alongside upcoming young talent like Kate-Lois Elliott and Ukrainian stand-up Dima Watermelon, there has been no shortage of belly laughs in Edinburgh this August.

6. Nina Conti

7. Kurt Sterling
In Kurt Sterling's Fringe show 'Corporate Chronicles', on at Just the Tonic at Cabaret Voltaire - Just The Common Room, 8pm until August 25, he told this joke: “My girlfriend is from overseas so doesn't know about the dangerous bird called Plovers. I tried warning her, but she didn't believe me. So I told her to go and find out for herself. Anyway, she's not with us anymore. Nothing to do with plovers, her visa expired." | JV Publicity

8. Ronnie Neville
Irish comedian Ronnie Neville told this joke on his Fringe run this month: “A jockey was trying to lose weight in the sauna and fainted from exhaustion. We brought him out and placed him down on the ground with his legs in the air. He asked what happened I said you fell off the horse again”.
