Jack Savoretti and James Morrison to join Edinburgh's Castle Concerts series with 2027 show

Tickets on sale this week for first Edinburgh Castle show announced for next summer

Two of the UK's most successful singer-songwriters are set to play a special double-headline show at Edinburgh Castle next summer.

Jack Savoretti and James Morrison will take to the famous esplanade stage on Saturday July 17 2027, as part of a joint seven-date tour across the UK.

The 2027 announcement follows a successful run of shows at the castle earlier this year. The 2026 summer lineup boasted performances from singer-songwriter Callum Beattie, James Taylor, Deacon Blue, Snow Patrol and rock band Garbage, featuring Edinburgh’s own Shirley Manson.

The latest announcement comes during a milestone year for Savoretti, who recently released his ninth studio album, We Will Always Be The Way We Were.

Marking exactly 20 years since the release of his debut record Between The Minds, the new album has seen the British-Italian musician return to his musical roots, reconnecting with the raw storytelling and cinematic soul that defined his earliest work.

Savoretti has cemented his place in the UK music scene with two No 1 albums, five top 10s and millions of global sales. Earlier this year, he headlined a sold-out 20th-anniversary show at London's Royal Albert Hall and made a surprise appearance alongside long-time collaborator KT Tunstall at the Isle of Wight Festival.

Morrison, who is also celebrating two decades in the music industry, brings his own impressive back catalogue to the Capital.

Since finding fame with his breakthrough hit You Give Me Something, his music has been praised for the emotion and quiet authority that have defined his enduring career. Across the last 20 years, he has won a Brit Award, secured two UK No 1 albums, released five top 10 singles and achieved multiple platinum-certified releases.

The soul singer also recently experienced a major chart resurgence, achieving his highest chart position in 14 years last autumn when his seventh studio album, Fight Another Day, reached the top five.

Tickets for the concert go on sale on Friday, September 11, at 10am from Ticketmaster.co.uk. Premium hospitality experiences for the concert series at Edinburgh Castle are available from Seatunique.com. Tickets are not available from Edinburgh Castle.

The events are run independently by Castle Concerts, and organisers have confirmed tickets will not be available directly from Historic Environment Scotland, which manages the landmark.

The gig forms part of the annual Castle Concerts series, which transforms the historic esplanade into a unique outdoor venue each summer. The pair will follow in the footsteps of legendary acts who have previously headlined the series, including The Who, Rod Stewart, Kylie Minogue, Lionel Richie and Paul Weller.
