A new family-friendly music festival made its debut at the Royal Highland Showground at the weekend, with the sun shining down on the sold out crowd.
Organised by DF Concerts as part of the Summer Sessions events in Glasgow and Edinburgh, Heather on the Hill brought thousands of music fans of all ages to Ingliston on Saturday, August 22.
The inaugural event was headlined and curated by Nathan Evans and Saint Phnx, whose 2024 hit ‘Heather on the Hill’ gave this new family-friendly music festival its name.
With multiple music stages, kids entertainment throughout the site, a ceilidh tent and even a Singing Kettle performance to give parents a nostalgia trip, this new event was a resounding success, with organisers already announcing that pre-sale tickets for 2027 go on sale this Thursday.
The crowd were treated to sets throughout the day from Celtic rockers Skerryvore, local soul singer Brooke Combe, Fife singer Cammy Barnes, and a DJ set by Scottish dance legend George Bowie.
Away from the stages, there was face painting, story sessions, arts and crafts, workshops, kids yoga, messy play, a dedicated music and singing tent, funfair attractions and a cast of roaming entertainers.
