Photography workshop at Stobshiel Garden returns

Photographers of all levels invited to capture the beauty of Stobshiel Garden in a hands-on workshop

Following the success of its first session earlier this year, the We Capture the Garden photography workshop is set to return to Stobshiel Garden in Humbie, East Lothian. The event, organised by friends and photography enthusiasts Delia Ridley-Thomas and Nicola Hailstone, will take place on Saturday 19 September from 10am to 2pm.

Participants will have the chance to develop their skills in garden photography within the picturesque surroundings of Stobshiel. The garden’s rich planting, intimate corners and diverse photographic subjects make it an ideal environment for both amateur and experienced photographers.

The workshop is priced at £65 per person and includes refreshments throughout the day, allowing attendees to relax and exchange ideas in a welcoming atmosphere. Photographers using any type of camera—from full-frame models to compact cameras and mobile phones—are encouraged to join.

Nicola Hailstone said: “We encourage all levels of photographic ability to join our workshops. Whether you are using a full-frame camera or a mobile phone, many of the key principles of photography — particularly composition and light — remain fundamental to both.”

With expert support and the inspiring setting of Stobshiel Garden, the workshop aims to provide an enjoyable and educational experience for those passionate about photography and gardens.
