Strictly stars in tribute to legendary Fred Astaire

HE was the greatest hoofer the Hollywood studios ever produced and he is remembered at the Usher Hall on Saturday when Strictly Come Dancing stars Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec tour their smash-hit theatre show Remembering Fred to the Lothian Road venue.

From the producer of Darcey Bussell and Katherine Jenkins’ Viva La Diva, Remembering Fred is an evening of song and dance celebrating the very core of what made the iconic Fred Astaire such a legend.

Backed by a full supporting cast of dancers and singers, Skorjanec and Manrara will once again perform classics from the American Songbook, written by the likes of George & Ira Gershwin, Irving Berlin and Cole Porter.

The show features songs such as They Can’t Take That Away From Me, Night & Day, S’Wonderful, Cheek To Cheek, Puttin’ On The Ritz, Let’s Face The Music & Dance, The Way You Look Tonight, Top Hat, White Tie & Tail and many others.

The 2018 tour of Remembering Fred promises to be a bigger show than before.

Skorjanec explains, “In addition to a variety of new songs, new dances, new costumes and a new look, we will be adding a huge LED screen to the production to create a multi-media cinematic experience for the audience.

“It’s going to be an epic show to choreograph with the screens behind us.”
