Chart-topping Basement Jaxx, legendary disco diva Candi Staton and Fun Lovin’ Criminals front man Huey Morgan to headline East Lothian's Fringe By The Sea - here's how to get tickets

EAST LOTHIAN'S 13th Fringe By The Sea brings a diverse mix of music to North Berwick this August, headlined by the chart-topping Basement Jaxx, Seventies' disco diva Candi Staton and Fun Lovin’ Criminals front man Huey Morgan.

Headlining the opening night of the event which will run from 7-16 August, chart topping electronic dance music duo Basement Jaxx aka Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe will play a DJ which will be followed later in the 10 day festival by performances from American singer/songwriter Candi Staton, best known for the classic hit Young Hearts Run Free, on Friday 14 August, and Fun Lovin’ Criminals front man Huey Morgan on Saturday 15 August.

Also appearing at this year's Fringe By The Sea will be hip-hop ‘noisemakers’ Dat Brass, Stornoway’s folk rockers Peat & Diesel on 14 August and returning to North Berwick following sell-out concerts in previous years are The Blues Band on Wednesday 12 August.

The appearances will be the highlights of a programme of around 160 events at this year’s festival comprising music, comedy and author talks as well as a kids' zone, arts and crafts, music workshops and open mic sessions.

There will also be well-being and yoga sessions, guided walks, wild swimming, art exhibitions, street performers and food stalls.

Looking to showcase high profile acts as well as the best local and emerging talent, Fringe By The Sea will once again work closely with the Scottish Seabird Centre and NB Movies while the hub of the festival will be in the harbour area of the town where two Spiegeltents will take pride of place. Other events will take place throughout the town with the North Berwick Fry will also hosting a number of music events, for those who like a little bit extra with their fish suppers.
