After an unprecedented five months’ closure, the National Museums Scotland have started reopening their attractions. The process began with the first part of a phased reopening of the National Museum of Flight with parts of the museum including Hangar 4 - The Concorde Experience - and the Parachute Store opening first.

Dr Chris Breward, Director of National Museums Scotland says, “We’ve missed our visitors and are thrilled to be welcoming them back to our museums.”

Online booking for the Museum of Flight is now open and you can enjoy free admission to the historic airfield and Concorde hangar until 16 August, after which paid entry will resume as the other hangars reopen. In line with Scottish Government guidelines, a range of measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of visitors and staff.

This includes pre-booked timed entry, enhanced cleaning, sneeze screens, hand-sanitising stations and one-way routes.

A spokesperson for the museum says, “After an unprecedented almost five months closure, on the 5 August we were delighted to throw open our doors and welcome our visitors back to the National Museum of Flight. It was so exciting to be able to welcome families back and to see them once again explore the historic aircraft and enjoy boarding Concorde.”
