From shopping and community centres to transport links, sports facilities and luxurious hotels, here are some of the major developments in Edinburgh we can expect to see in 2021.

5. Meadowbank Sports Centre
Part of the Edinburgh Council-run Meadowbank regeneration which will deliver new homes and community facilities to the Meadowbank area, the sports centre is expected to be completed by mid 2021 and work is currently underway. Photo: Edinburgh Council
A 400 hectolitre brewery, visitor centre, taproom and beer garden are promised to be operational by 2021, Covid permitting.
