It’s the third Wagamama restaurant to open in the city - the others being on Castle Terrace and in Ocean Terminal - and has been designed to mirror St Andrew Square’s prestigious yet traditional city scene.

Split across two floors, the restaurant champions the stylish décor Wagamama has pioneered since opening its first restaurant in London.

Inspired by fast-paced Japanese ramen bars it’s designed to offer a revolution in eating experiences by offering the freshest pan-Asian food served in a communal setting.

Newly appointed customer director, Emma Woods says, “We’re thrilled to open this site in such a historic and beautiful part of Scotland.

“The strength of the brand is increasing... the demand for our famous pan-Asian food continues to grow.”

That food includes the traditional donburi (pictured), a big bowl of steamed rice that is stir-fried with chicken, beef or prawn and mixed vegetables, served with a pickled side.

Also on the menu is ramen, hearty hot broth filled with fresh ramen noodles, toppings and garnishes; teppanyaki, sizzling noodles, stir-fried by quickly turning them on a flat griddle to give soft noodles and crunchy vegetables; and a range of fresh curries, ranging from the mild and fragrant to spicier chilli dishes.

All comply with Wagamama’s ethos of positive eating and the idea that we feed our soul as well as our body.

“Spreading positivity from soul to bowl. We want customers to share in our enthusiasm, slurp their noodles, relax in good company and leave feeling happy, nourished and refreshed.”
