Haunted doors and dogs in disguise as Bangour Village in West Lothian celebrates Halloween
To mark Halloween, Barratt and David Wilson Homes invited residents at Bangour Village in West Lothian to give their front doors a haunting makeover, with households contending to create the most frightening entrance on the development. After plenty of deliberation and no shortage of ghoulish entries, the judges reached their verdict.

Joshua, Lauren, Darwin and Zander Angell took the title with their garden that had been transformed into a spooky Halloween graveyard, featuring skeletons of various sizes, scattered bones, pumpkins and cobweb-like planting, with a large skeleton emerging from the lawn beside the front door, winning the competition.
Judges from the homebuilder toured the development on Saturday 31 October to consider the entries, finding doorsteps dripped in cobwebs, pumpkin displays and haunted figures all on show.

Residents then gathered at the Colville show home at DWH @ Bangour Village for a Halloween party, where families enjoyed sweet treats and games before the winner was announced.
Following the Pup Parade at Barratt @ Bangour Village in August, owners were also invited to bring their dogs along in costume, with a large turnout of residents in many different costumes.
Joshua Angell said: “With so many brilliant doors around the development, we didn’t expect to win, so hearing our name read out was a real surprise. We had great fun putting it together, and the party was a lovely chance to meet more of our neighbours.
“There is a fabulous sense of community at Bangour Village, and it is great to have the opportunity to take part in events like this.”
Lorraine Paterson, Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes East Scotland, said: “The residents went to town on their doors, and picking a winner was harder than we expected, so congratulations to the Angells on a properly frightening entry.
“After the Pup Parade in August, we knew we couldn’t hold a Halloween party at Bangour Village without inviting the dogs. Having neighbours, children and pets all in costume at the show home made for a brilliant afternoon.”
