Gregor Poynton MP has donated a selection of Halloween costumes to The School Bank West Lothian's annual Halloween Costume Appeal through the collection point at Craigsfarm Community Hub in Craigshill.

The Livingston constituency MP is encouraging residents to support the appeal by donating new, once-used or  pre-loved costumes and accessories ahead of Halloween.

The School Bank West Lothian collects and redistributes Halloween costumes to local schools, community groups and families experiencing financial hardship, helping ensure children across West Lothian can take part in school dress-up days, community events and go guising alongside their friends.

Costumes donated through the appeal are distributed through local schools, community organisations and referral partners, providing support to families who may otherwise struggle with the additional costs associated with Halloween.

The annual appeal has become an important community initiative, supported by local residents, businesses, schools and organisations across West Lothian. It helps ensure children can enjoy the same opportunities as their peers while easing pressure on family budgets.

A network of collection points operates across the area, making it easy for residents to donate costumes they no longer need and support local families.

Gregor Poynton MP said:

"Every child should have the chance to enjoy Halloween and take part in the traditions and celebrations that so many families look forward to each year.

"No child should miss out on dressing up, taking part in school activities or going guising with their friends because the cost of a costume has become difficult for their family to manage.

"The School Bank West Lothian does fantastic work supporting children and families throughout the year. This appeal is another example of the positive impact that organisation and its volunteers have across our community.

"I was pleased to support the appeal with a donation of my own, and I'd encourage anyone who is able to do the same. Together, we can help ensure more children across West Lothian can enjoy Halloween and feel included in the celebrations."
