New Tesco Express store opens in Wallyford
A brand-new Tesco Express store has opened its doors this week (Tuesday 13th October), in Wallyford, East Lothian, bringing more convenience and everyday essentials to local residents.

Situated at the junction of Futures Way and Masons Way, the new Tesco Express offers a convenient option for groceries, everyday essentials and lunchtime Meal Deals.
It also includes a range of Scottish-sourced products, helping to champion local favourites and products tailored to the surrounding community.

The new store will be open seven days a week, from 7am to 10pm, and has created 12 new jobs in the local community. It also features in-store bakery products, as well as 24/7 InPost lockers for customers to collect parcels.
To coincide with the opening, Tesco were pleased to donate £500 to local charity Wallyford Children’s Gala. The funding will help support the Gala with live entertainment and fun activities for local families to enjoy.
Colleagues greeted shoppers with balloons, treats and goodies, while an official ribbon-cutting ceremony was held with members of Wallyford Children’s Gala.
Shaun Lawrence, Store Manager at Tesco Express Wallyford, said: “We’re thrilled to open our new Wallyford Express store to serve the local community.

“Customers will find our shelves stocked with a wide range of everyday essentials, including fresh produce, baked goods, healthcare items and, of course, everyone’s favourite meal deal.
“I’m proud to be leading such a fantastic team, and we’re all looking forward to welcoming our new customers over the coming weeks.”
The store will be part of Tesco’s Fruit & Veg grant scheme, which invites local schools and community groups to apply for funding to support to local schools and community initiatives.
Every four months, customers in-store can vote for one of three local projects with first place awarded up to £1,500, second place up to £1,000 and third place up to £500.
The new store will also participate in the Community Food Connection scheme, which redistributes surplus food from Tesco stores to charities and community groups, run in partnership with charity FareShare since 2016.
