£45,000 raised in Edinburgh for Scots living with complex needs
Organisations, businesses and individuals from across Scotland turned out in force for a glittering fundraising gala, raising money to support disabled people and their families throughout the country.

The annual Capability Scotland Gala Dinner, saw guests from across the country gather at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, in Edinburgh to support the vital work of Capability Scotland.
With a mission is to deliver high quality, person centred services that enable disabled people to achieve their goals, have their voices heard and participate fully in society, funds raised through the event will help Capability Scotland continue to support disabled children, young people and adults across Scotland through its education, social care, and community services.

The night championed the importance of inclusivity and giving individuals with complex needs a voice, opening with a live music performance from The Jollity Express Makaton Choir, a musical group made up of people supported by Capability Scotland who live with complex needs. The evening also featured a speech from Brian Logan, Chief Executive, on the importance of equality for disabled people in Scotland, as well as a powerful video showing the life-changing impact of Capability Scotland's services on individuals.
Celebrations continued with a silent auction, competitive games and a live band generating a total of £45,000, raising £12,000 more than the previous year.
Brian said: “Events like the gala are vital to securing the long-term future of our charity, allowing us to continue delivering essential services.
“Our work has a life changing impact on people living with complex needs across the country, providing them with an inclusive environment and the support they need to learn, grow and find an equal place in society.

“Every person who attended the gala, bid on the auction or put a ticket in the raffle has played a part in making that possible.”
Support from Scotland’s businesses has been crucial in bolstering the work of the charity, with sponsorship from Hardies Chartered Surveyors and Shepherd Chartered Surveyors helping to make the event possible.
The annual gala has become a well-loved feature in Capability Scotland's fundraising calendar. This year's event marked a significant milestone for the charity, with funds raised increasing by over 30% on the previous year, helping to deliver crucial support to those who need it.
