With more than 1,500 shows already revealed for this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe, we’ve taken a look at some of the famous faces you can see on stage this August.
Fringe favourites including David O’Doherty, Jason Byrne, Reginald D Hunter and Paul Merton will be joined by other ‘well-kent’ faces from comedy including Adam Hills, Nish Kumar, Dara O’Briain and Sara Pascoe.
Joining these famous stand-ups at the Fringe in August will be ventriloquist Nina Conti, politician Mhari Black, TV star Bobby Davro and national treasure Miriam Margolyes.

9. Reginald D. Hunter
A popular stand-up comedian since the 1990s, when he stepped back from his pursuit of a career in acting after he won a £100 bet to try stand-up, Reginald D Hunter has had Fringe audiences crying with laughter for decades. For years, Reginald D Hunter has been misinterpreted as a controversial comedian because of his show titles despite his repeated objections that he is not a controversial comedian. He has penned Fluffy Fluffy Beavers with some hope to rehabilitate his persona by manifesting images of well-coiffed river creatures building dams of chocolate in rivers of candy, whilst continually delivering pressure inducing ideas to form diamonds of laughter. Reginald D Hunter: Fluffy Fluffy Beavers, at Assembly George Square Studios, July 31 and August 1-6, 8-13, 15-20, 22-26, 9.30pm. Having trained his body and mind to the point of peak perfection, he has used a very nice pen to write a new concert of talking and songs. Now it's time to say it out loud. He's got fresh batteries for his keyboard and a splendid new hat. He is ready. Are you? David O'Doherty: Ready, Steady, David O'Doherty at Assembly George Square, Gordon Aikman Theatre, July 31 and August 1-12, 14-26, 7.15pm.
