The Princess Switch, Switched Again is the sequel to the hugely popular first film – The Princess Switch – which aired on Netflix in 2018. The sequel is billed as a family-friendly Christmas film, with the Netflix synopsis reading: “When Duchess Margaret unexpectedly inherits the throne to Montenaro and hits a rough patch with Kevin, it’s up to her double Stacy to save the day before a new lookalike, party girl Fiona foils their plans.”

Filming for the sequel took place in January, with areas of Leith cordoned off and turned into a winter wonderland. Popular cafe, Mimi’s Bakehouse looks set to play a starring role, as it was transformed into "Sweets and Treats", the shop owned by Vanessa Hudgens' character Stacy in the Netflix film. The first film, The Princess Switch, saw the star – who plays a talented baker – swap places with her doppelganger, Margaret, Duchess of Montenaro in the fictional kingdom of Belgravia.

When the High School Musical star was in Scotland for the filming, she was seen taking part in the annual torchlight procession as well as enjoying a pint of Tennent’s in The Guildform Arms.
