I’m an NCTJ-qualified Senior Journalist at the Sheffield Star, primarily covering news in Sheffield and also parts of South Yorkshire. I have worked at National World since July 2021 after graduating with a First-Class Honours Degree in Journalism Studies at the University of Sheffield.
I first started my career in journalism at the Worksop Guardian, covering all aspects of local news. This ranged from meeting Cabinet Ministers such as the Home Secretary, celebrating people’s achievements, reporting live from protests, and racing against the clock to cover breaking news.In February 2023, I joined the Sheffield Star and began reporting more closely on specific topics, such as food and drink, and the coroner’s court.Anything food and drink related is certainly where my heart lies, from new restaurants and bars, to interviews with chefs, to giving my own verdict on dishes and menus. I enjoy speaking to business owners about their upcoming plans, milestones, and any other news they have to share.I have lived in Sheffield since 2018 after moving here from the coast in North Norfolk. Outside of work, my interests are crochet, reading, walking and running, and I’m a member of the lovely Sheffield women’s running group StrideOut.
