Some of the city’s most well-known areas are seeing a massive injection of cash as developers build large mixed-use developments.
These projects, including the controversial St James Quarter, will add thousands of homes across the Capital, with a particular emphasis on the city centre.
Alongside the homes will be a large range of office and retail space, hotels and leisure facilities – from cinemas to distilleries.

9. Edinburgh Marina

12. Edinburgh International Business Gateway
The future of the £700 million Edinburgh International Business Gateway is in the balance after planning approval was called in by Scottish Ministers. If given the green light it will create 232,000 m² of office space, 5,500 m² of retail & leisure space, 2,350 homes, 1,410 hotel rooms, a primary school, and a secondary school in Ingliston.
