A Scottish start-up company has developed a new one of a kind technology which allows diners to play games, call a waiter, and even design their own pizza from the comfort of their seats.

The Smart Table, created by ePOS Hybrid, allows diners to be in full control of their experience, from browsing the menu and placing their orders, to requesting a waiter or viewing their bill.

The intention of the Smart Table is to offer a brand new interactive dining experience to consumers while decreasing the demand on waiting staff during busy periods, meaning restaurants, bars and clubs can provide a more efficient, seamless service.

Founder of ePOS Hybrid, Bhas Kalangi, said: “This could revolutionise the dining experience in bars and restaurants.

“Having worked in a bar and seen the first-hand stresses caused by traditional, older point of sales systems, developing technology which allows hospitality businesses to work more efficiently is at the core of what we do. It’s extremely rewarding to see the positive impact our technology is having on hospitality businesses across the UK.”

The plug and play connection ensures the Smart Touch Table is ready for immediate use, and can connect to the complete range of ePOS devices.

Their products including customer self checkouts, ePOS Terminals, mobile apps and remote kitchen displays, which are integrated and can be controlled and managed from a single dashboard.

Bhas added: “It’s a really exciting time for the industry as there are so many market opportunities and trends we can work with to develop the best ePOS system for restaurants and bars.”
