46 new Covid-19 cases in Edinburgh and Lothians as Scotland death toll reaches 1,231

Updated Lothian numbers were released today at 2pm

A total of 46 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the NHS Lothian area in the last 24 hours, as the death toll in Scotland reaches 1,231.

The latest government figures, published at 2pm today, reveal an increase from 1,684 to 1,730 cases of Covid-19 in the NHS Lothian area.

There are now 287 people in hospital with suspected or confirmed Covid-19, twelve more than yesterday, and 25 people in the ICU, a decrease of one since yesterday.

There are 10,051 positive cases across all Scotland.
