70 additional deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours which brings the death toll in Scotland, under this daily measurement, to 6,040.

Of the new cases reported today, 147 were in the Lothians, 337 were in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board and 207 were in Lanarkshire.

The rest were reported across 11 other health board areas.

1,958 people are currently in hospital with the virus which is a decrease of 25 from the figure reported yesterday.

144 people are currently in intensive care, which is an increase of two from the figure reported yesterday.

As of 8.30am today, 515,855 people had received their first dose of the vaccine in Scotland.

The additional 1,155 positive cases in the last 24 hours has brought the total number of people who have tested positive for the virus since the start of the pandemic to 177,688.
