Tom Kitchin has announced that he has had to close his Stockbridge restaurant for a few days as a “precaution” due to “an isolated Covid case”.
The Scran & Scallie on Comely Bank Road in Stockbridge will be closed for a few days, Mr Kitchin announced.
The restaurant – which currently holds a Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand – has experienced an isolated incident of Covid-19
The restaurant team is currently working alongside Health Protection Scotland.
Mr Kitchin said there was no need for those who have been in close-contact with the venue in the past week to self-isolate.
Those who have booked coming reservations at the Stockbridge restaurant are being notified about the situation.
On a post on his Instagram page, Mr Kitchin wrote: “We have taken the decision to close The Scran & Scallie from today for a few days as a precaution.
"The safety of our guests and team are paramount and following an isolated Covid case at The Scran & Scallie, there is no need for close contacts to self-isolate.
"We are working with Health Protection Scotland who is satisfied with the steps we take to mitigate the spread of the virus.
"Thankfully there is no concern or need for us to contact any guests who have dined with us over the last week.
"We are now contacting all guests with upcoming reservations to advise them of the situation.
"We look forward to welcoming guests back as soon as we can.
"Best wishes, Tom Kitchin & team”
