We asked you on our Facebook page for your favourite streets in the capital.
Here are 11 of the most popular, along with the history behind them.
9. Cockburn Street
Featured in the Hollywood superhero blockbuster 'Avengers: Infinity War', a lesser-known feature of the picturesque street is a carving of an owl and a pussycat on the north side, a tribute to the Edward Lear poem. Photo: Google Maps
10. Princes Street
Wrongly called Princess Street by many a visitor, the major shopping street was originally to be called St Giles Street after the patron saint of Edinburgh. King George III objected to the idea as he associated it with the slum area of London of the same name. Instead it was named after King George's eldest son, Prince George. Photo: Lisa Ferguson
11. Heriot Row
Home to many wealthy, famous and talented people since its creation in 1802, the best known of which was writer Robert Louis Stevenson. Photo: Google Maps
