Once places of laughter, music and one too many pints, these iconic Edinburgh pubs can now only be found in the history books.
Whether it was catching a 5am whisky in The Penny Black or indulging in folk music in The Yellow Carvel, many of the Capital's residents have fond memories of each and everyone of these pubs.

1. The Auld Toll

2. Mathers
Drinkers always referred to it as Mathers Broughton Street, to differentiate it from the other Mathers at the West End. It closed in 2016 and reopened as The Empress of Broughton Street. Photo: other
3. Ivanhoe
