10 of the best Valentine's Day meal kits available for nationwide delivery

Valentine's day is set to be a bit different this year, as restaurant across the country remain closed.

But there's still time to order a meal kit from a range of eateries, which offer nationwide home delivery.

From seafood to steaks, some including drinks, here we take a look at some of the best meals to enjoy at home this Valentine's Day.

Haar at Home

Masterchef finalist chef Dean Banks has been offering a luxury selection of cook at home boxes since launching Haar at home from his St Andrews restaurant in 2020.

Diners can choose from a steak and lagoustine box, luxury crab and lobster box and a best of land and sea box.

Scotch Malt Whisky Society at home

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) is offering home dining experience for delivery across the UK, so whisky fans can enjoy a few drams with a slap up meal this month.

Home Dining kits are available for delivery across mainland UK on 4 – 5 and 11 – 12 February, priced at £95 for two people or £165 for four.

The Valentine's Day meal kits are also available for click and collect from the 28 Queen Street, Edinburgh or 38 Bath Street, Glasgow Members’ Rooms on 4-6 and 11-13 February priced at £85 for two people or £155 for four people.

The three course meal comes paired with SMWS drams as well as chocolate truffles and a special Cupid’s Whisky Sour cocktail.

For the true SMWS experience, customers will receive videos from executive head chef James Freeman and SMWS ambassadors - offering tips on how to plate the meal and tasting notes for the drams.

Wedgwood the Restaurant

Wedgwood the Restaurant in Edinburgh, owned by husband and wife team, Paul and Lisa Wedgwood, have a special Valentine's celebration box on offer this month.

Paul has created a five and seven course tasting menu using the finest seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.

Priced from £135 for two, the box comes with a delicious aperitif and can be delivered nationwide for free.

There’s also a carefully curated wine selection to match the dishes that have been chosen from the Wedgwood wine cellar.

National delivery is on Friday 12 February and Edinburgh delivery is available on Friday 12, Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 February.

The Cook School

This family run business has two offerings for budding home cooks to enjoy this month - the Cook School in a box and a Valentine's cook along.

Cook School in a Box is a  new offering that includes a pre-prepared meal for two for delivery anywhere in the UK.

The box includes canapés, starter, main course, sides and dessert, and a bottle of prosecco can also be included. Priced from £50, you can order here.

The Cook School is also hosting a Valentine's cookery class. with ingredients boxes available for delivery across the UK.

Participants can look forward to a relaxed, fun and interactive evening cook alongside the school's head chef Stuart.

Balgove Larder

The award-winning butchery team at Balgove Larder has created a selection of its favourite cuts of steak for a romantic dinner for two this Valentine's Day.

The box has been put together by head butcher James Lothian and contains four different cuts: Flat Iron, Onglet, Ribeye and Fillet.

This means that recipients are able to recreate Balgove’s popular Steak Barn experience at home.

There’s also the option of adding a wine and cheese selection that includes four of the finest Scottish cheeses, oatcakes and chutney with bottles of red and white wine.

Priced at £48.95 for two 8oz steaks of each cut. The wine and cheese selection is priced at £64.95.

The team behind popular Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast and Manchester Six by Nico restaurants has nationwide delivery on its Home by Nico kits.

For Valentine's Day there is a special menu available to pre-order now for £80 through the business's e-commerce site, Home-X.

Old Pulteney whisky and Guylian hamper

Old Pulteney, The Maritime Malt, has partnered with sustainable seafood supplier Fish To Your Door and Belgian chocolatier Guylian to create a coastal-inspired Valentine’s hamper for ‘locked-down lovers’ all over the UK.

The hamper includes a dozen fresh oysters, a bottle of the award-winning Old Pulteney 12 Years Old single malt and a box of Guylian sea shells.

The experience is completed with a newly launched augmented reality app that will allow customers to bring the coast to their homes.

The Old Pulteney, Fish to your Door and Guylian hamper is priced at £60 and are available for UK wide delivery here. A second hamper can be purchased with a 20% discount using the code VALENTINE20.

Green Haus

Tuck into an eight course vegan meal this Valentine's Day with a delivery from Green Haus.

Dishes include: Orzo Puttanesca with Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Pesto and Cavolo Nero; Okra Pakora with Lime Pickle, Celeriac, Boondi Chaat and Jaggery Goor Dressing; and Borracho Beans with Avocado and Mint Crema. Dessert is a vegan chocolate cake with chocolate icing, cookie dough and roasted cocoa nibs.

The Green Haus menu also comes with a bottle of Bodegas Alceno Barinas Sauvignon Blanc from Spain and is priced at £55 for two and includes UK national delivery.

Jason Atherton at home

Celebrate Valentine's Day with a dinner prepared by a Michelin starred chef.

Jason Atherton has teamed up with Lake District Farmers to create a luxurious at home Valentine’s meal for two to share.

The meal includes dishes with fine ingredients including Orkney scallops, Lake District farmers beef fillet and a chocolate and hazelnut delice.
