It’s that time of year again when wild haggis roam the Pentland Hills. One of Scotland’s delicacies, it’s something that must be tried on a visit to the Capital. Whether that’s the traditional meat option, or the equally delicious vegetarian and vegan varieties.
We asked readers on our Facebook page their recommendations for the best restaurants and pubs serving haggis in Edinburgh. From fancy restaurants to delicious takeaways, this is what they said.
The Artisan Van is a food pop-up in Newhailes Industrial Estate, Musselburgh, serving all-day breakfast rolls, gourmet burgers, soup, and more. To honour the Bard, in the past they have served the "Highlander" baguette, with steak, haggis, onions, and pepper sauce, and there will be a Macsween haggis delight on the 25th. Formerly a pub, the White House in Niddrie Mains Road, Craigmillar, is now a community centre with a cafe. The menu here is incredibly affordable and comes highly recommended - with haggis bon bons for £3.39, a haggis burger for £3, and haggis, neeps, and tatties for £4. Photo: Google Streetview
