Edinburgh restaurant named as having one of the ‘50 Best Burgers in the World’

Annual listing of the 50 Best Burgers in the World reveals one Capital restaurant made the cut

It’s no secret to locals that Bread Meats Bread dishes up some of the finest gourmet burgers around – but now they have achieved global recognition.

The restaurant, which has branches on North Bridge, Lothian Road and Fort Kinnaird, as well as in Glasgow, has been named as having one of the top 50 burgers in the world by Big 7 Travel.

The travel site rounded up the best burgers in the world for 2022 using a ranking system that considers editorial experience, critic reviews, customer feedback, location and accessibility, presentation, value for money and atmosphere.

Bread Meats Bread, which has branches on North Bridge, Lothian Road and Fort Kinnaird, has been named as having one of the top 50 burgers in the world.

And Bread Meats Bread more than held its own – coming in at No.15 on the list!

Announcing the decision to award the Edinburgh venue such a high placing, the judges said: “Bread Meats Bread boasts one of the mightiest menus we’ve ever seen, with more than 15 mouthwatering burgers to choose from.

“You could play it safe with one of the classics, but we recommend going all out and opting for the Wolf Burger.

“It’s a bacon cheeseburger loaded with pulled pork in tangy BBQ sauce, crispy fried onions and gochujang mayo. Patties are made of three different cuts of dry-aged grass-fed Scotch beef from small Perthshire farms too.”

They added: “A word to the wise: come hungry, the portions are huge.”
