Go-Go’s Takeaway, on Niddrie Mains Road, won the title of Takeaway of the Year South East at the Scottish Food Awards on Monday evening (September 26).
The winners were announced at a black-tie ceremony at the Glasgow Marriott Hotel, with Go-Go’s Takeaway coming out on top against the best takeaways in the region.
Go-Gos specialise in pizzas, kebabs and curries, and the owners pride themselves on using only the finest fresh ingredients.
The Food Awards Scotland 2022 recognised the success of local professionals and establishments that continue to deliver great flavours and experiences to their customers.
They said “all the finalists and winners have helped shape and build Scotland’s reputation of food”.
The winners, they added, “are a true reflection of high standard and customer service and are chosen by members of the general public”.
A spokesperson for The Food Awards Scotland said: “It is true that Scotland combines tastes and flavours from all over the world, where visitors can find different restaurants, gastro pubs and bistros, to meet their needs.
“Creative Oceanic is proud to be part of this celebration and we would like to congratulate all finalists and winners for their achievements!”
Earlier this week, the Evening News reported that an Edinburgh chippy also scooped not one but two food awards – including the coveted title of Best Fish and Chip Shop in Scotland.
Pierinos, on Bernard Street, was also named Best Fish and Chip Shop in the South East at the Scottish Food Awards.
